    Salt Bath Annealing

Heck of an idea and great price point. I missed out though everything sold out besides thermometer and thermocoupler.

Are high powered scopes really necessary for hunting?

The more I shoot long range the less mag I seem to be using. Usually running solo and with no spotter to help call hits I need the larger field of view to spot myself, especially on game. 10x is sufficient out as far as I’m comfortable at taking game, and 14x I find maximum for efficient self...

When do you chamber a round while hunting?

There's about a safety much possibility of a model 94 win with one in chamber/hammer down going off prematurely as option C with a bolt action. How many here use the hammer down as the 'safety'. Let that sink in...

When do you chamber a round while hunting?

Until you prove us wrong you're just another opinion, kinda like an arsehole we all have one. Good luck getting that option C to fire by the way...

When do you chamber a round while hunting?

I trust C over a safety all day everyday. In grizzly country backpacking I rock C. Ever looked backed to see bolt open and cartridge absent action full of crap, rem 700 style action? Bolt lock with safety on helps prevent this but not what I run. C for me most the time. Still hunting and sitting...

Larger diameter bullets allow more room for error?

Find it hard to believe that I can grenade a regular AB but the LRAB doesn't? Many reports of the LRAB also being unreliable at high speeds and tough impacts.

Larger diameter bullets allow more room for error?

And depending on bullet weight, up to 50% more fragmentation which in essence increases wound channel greatly. Can turn a straight liver shot into a liver/lung shot in a hurry, which I've found desirable.

Larger diameter bullets allow more room for error?

I agree, if you can't shoot a 30cal+ well enough to take advantage of the extra bullet weight, diameter and down range energy by all means move down in caliber or cartridge. But don't turn around and say it's just as good as the one you couldn't shoot as well.

Larger diameter bullets allow more room for error?

I think there's a decent argument of proper bullet speed for desired performance is potentially more important than energy and bullet diameter. This argument would also support your desired theory better than trying to throw the energy card out there, 30cal energy is pretty easy to trump 6.5...

Larger diameter bullets allow more room for error?

Exactly, anyone who thinks 40+ extra grains of fragmentation during a shot a bit far back is meaningless is only fooling themselves.

Larger diameter bullets allow more room for error?

I own the book and can read thanks. His recommendation is the 90% rule if you read it again.
