Need some advice for a bullet for a 6.5 Creedmore. Heavy Lilja 26 inch barrel. 1-8 twist. Would like to punch paper and hit metal targets 300 - 600 yards for now.

Have Varget and H4350 available.

Many thanks for any suggestions.

140 a-max. I shoot ragged holes with these out of my Creedmoor on top of superformance. My dad has same results with H4350 out of his Creedmoor. Not as high of a B.C. as the bergers but we have really good luck with them.

The Hornady 140gr A-max or even their 140gr BThp is the most economical. And it shots well. For 300-600 yards, maybe the 130gr Berger or even the 123gr A-max. If the Hornady shoot well, and probably will, they are the most economical.

Many use H4350, works good. I use Ramshot Hunter with magnum primers. And RL17 has shown promise with some as well.

Have fun.

Ive been shooting 140 grain berger VLDs with alot of sucess. Was able to hit a can of spray paint at 700. and great groupings at 1000.

also lately bought a box of 100 grain V-max's for groundhogs. they shoot really really well!

I also just got 2 boxs of the berger 140 grain hybrids that i will load up this spring.

They don't have the following of the bergers or sierras but I've had good luck with noslers 140 grain custom competition. Might be worth a shot

The custom competitions shoot awesome in my rifle. This is a 4 shot group at 300 yards using the CC, the 4th shot I flinched bad when the guy on the bench next to me fired right before I did.

That's hard to argue with. I haven't stretched their legs yet but they're showing promise during development. Sometimes I wish I had gone with the creedmoor instead of the 6.5x284

I'm currently having great luck with the 139gr Lapua Scenar bullets on top of H4350......previously I shot the 140 A-max bullets, about 3,500 of them last year but my more recent lots have been giving me un-explained flyers. I chalk it up to quality control.....I've not had issue with the Lapua bullets. They are available in 1000 rd boxes to boot.
