Vortex razer Hd bino's how do they compair to swaro HD or ziess HD or leica Hd bino's ? The price on the vortex are over a $1000.00 . What one would you get?Or what do you people on here think about these bino's?

I bought a pair in September and love them. I have the 12 X 50's and don't think I'd ever part with them. They are clear, crisp, and you can glass all day without any eye strain. For the price as compared to the other high end glass, I don't think you would regret them. From what other's that I guide with say, they would put them up against any of the others. I think the only thing you might gain with the Leica's or Swaro's might be a couple min of light, but to me not worth almost double the price. If Vortex ever comes out with a rangefinding bino, that will be the ultimate and in my opinion put them above the other 2 names.

I know that Zeiss is very good glass too, not sure about their warranty, but Vortex is absolutely the best, no questions asked.

I have Raxor HD 8.5x50 and a pair of Swarovision 8x32. The Razors are very nice, but color fringing is noticeable . The Swaros are very nice, with a much higher price. Unless your OCD about having a lot for 1/2 price, you can always save pennies and upgrade. Also the Vortex warranty is unbeatable.

TO the original poster.

If you are looking at a 10x42 glass there are three great contenders.

Zeiss Conquest HD
Vortex Razor HD
Meopta Meostar HD/Cabelas Euro Instinct HD

The Zeiss and Vortex are also available in 8x42.

All are similar in price and quality but the Zeiss and Meopta seem to come out ahead more often in reviews than the Vortex. Typically the Zeiss can be had the cheapest. The Vortex IMO is too light for a 10x glass.

Be aware that the resale value on the Vortex will be the worst of the lot. The Zeiss warranty is also great.

The binoculars above are considered at the top of the mid priced category. Optically they offer 95% of the performance of the best binoculars made and represent smart money/good value.

I would not buy the zeiss conquest.I would buy the zeiss victory .If im spending that much on them , I want the best from that company. Zeiss or Leica.

To my eyes, the main benefits of alpha glass are higher contrast, better color accuracy, wider usable field of view, and lower eye fatigue. You get what you pay for.

The OP was asking for opinions on the Vortex Razor HD which retail for around $1200. I gave him some other options in that price range.

The Zeiss Victory HT in 10x42 is a $2300 binocular, the Conquest HD $900

IF you are wanting the very best then by all means buy a Victory HT or Swarovski EL Swarovision.

The reason I ask is people make it sound like the vortex razor compair to those. The way it sound the vortex razer won't even compair to a pair of leica ultravid or swaro scl I bet.I like 10x50 or 12x50
