Hi,

I'm looking to try hog hunting with bow, muzzle-loader or rifle. I am willing to hunt hard and AM NOT looking for a "show up & shoot". I live in NC but will travel for a good hunt. Any recommendations?

Not trying to be rude but just letting you know:

OK folks, I'm still looking for hunts. Please respond via Private Message, "PM", unless you are a sponsor here. I don't want to bring grief upon anyone answering my call!

Buano I did several google and other sites looking for a hunt myself. I'm in Virginia and there are not many options the closest to me were in NC and SC . There are several out there but most of them are show up and shoot. Hope this helps some

Hello. New guy here. My friends and I have had a lot of good luck hunting with Matt Sherwood of T & M Hunting Properties. He's in 4 Oaks, NC at Exit 90 off I-95. Excellent hog hunting. He hunts several properties and each has large sounders of hogs. Hogs up to 400+ lbs. No fences, all fair chase. Google T & M Hunting Properties. Pics on the website. Good luck! Ski.

Thanks! That's close enough to make it practical. Their prices are high for hog hunting, but that happens when there is little for local competition.

I just did a three day hunt two weeks ago with Hog Heaven Outfitters in Johnson county NC, its SE of Goldsboro. I took four hogs in two days 100-160 lbs. I had a great time, Wayne and Chad are good people. Its 2000 acres, fair chase and there is alot of critters in those woods!

Its night hunting...but i was doing a little recon before the third night of hunting, it was about 2 oclock in the afternoon, bright sun, about 75 degrees and I spotted a couple of sows grazing on grass in a large open field, they were about 500 yards out. I had my 50 Beowulf and the wind was in my favor so I started my slow stalk, half hour later I closed the distance to 150 yards. At the shot, the big sow dropped and life was good!

My point is its not just stand hunting, you can spot and stalk during the day if you want. Check those guys out, they will be getting my business again for sure, good luck.

What did the hunt cost you? $1,200 for 3-days of hog hunting seems awfully expensive.

I went with two other guys, it cost me $700 for three days, thats includes 2 hogs,(if you get them) then its $100 a hog after that.

Was this some type of group discount? Looking on their website it looks like $400 per day per person.

Yes, it was a discount, the more people the bigger the break. They will hunt up to 7 people maximum for a weekend ( thurs, fri, sat) So if you bring a group everyone makes out.

I'm a little late to the party with the pictures, this one hog had some Russian in it.
