I am pretty late posting this, but I figured I would anyway. Watched this buck for 5 evenings in a row before making the move to shoot him just over 300 yards with my 300 Win. Mag.

I wanted to make sure I had him patterned before I moved in. Sat on a hill with my spotting scope overlooking the river bottom 1200 yards away and watched him come out in the same spot like clockwork. He wasn't pressured at all and I didn't want to make a pre-mature game plan that might throw him off his pattern.

The farthest animal I have taken is 785 yards and that was a doe antelope. If he came out to 800 I definitely would have pulled the trigger but as of right now, 1200 is a little too far. Maybe down the road that distance will be doable. :)

I heard you were running around the river bottom shooting up all the big deer with your buddy!:D I also heard 2011 will not be an exception and that you plan on doing it again.

Haha, yeah my buddy has a 338 Lapua and I'll have my 338 RUM ready to go by fall. We did pretty good last year but this year should be even better seeing how 1200 yards won't be a problem.

When 1200 isn't a problem I have ocean front property for sale in montana. 1200 yards on a game animal is a serious challenge even for the best rifleman. Alot can go wrong in 1200 yards.
