Northwest Louisiana Coyote Hunting

Looking for places to hunt coyotes in Beinville,Bossier, Caddo, De Soto, and Webster Parish can anyone help?gun) Thanks Mike

I don't know a single deer hunter that appreciates having to share their deer with coyotes. No guarantees, but I'd be willing to bet you could get some land access by simply placing an ad in American Classifieds. Maybe offering to help rid deer leases of the #1 fawn predators free of charge would get you the access you're lookin for. Nothing ventured, nothing lost. Be creative and don't give up. Thanks koonazz for your reply. I have been contacting some of the deer hunters in the area with good responses so far. Looks like the hogs have been a big problem in this area also this year.

Unfortunately the hog problem in our state is going to get worse if the LDWF and legislature don't get drastic. One of the problems is the pigs' reproductive rate, its astronomical. Another problem is the practice of some "hog hunters" relocating pigs. It spreads disease and increases the chances of them spreading to areas that have never really had them before. Deer can't compete with hogs for food, a hog can eat everything a deer eats and a ton o stuff that a deer won't eat. I know there's quite a few who'll argue with me about all this, but I'll be keeping a shoot on sight policy as far as hogs are concerned. Good luck in your pursuit of nusaince animals. We have more deer in Louisiana than ever before, I'd like to keep it that way.

You are exactly right. Up here in Caddo Parish I see hogs in the middle of the day running along side the road. At least with the new night hunting laws just recently pass that can't do anything but help.Only thing I wish thy would let us hunt the WMA's the same as private land.

This is sad but true, we're the last to show progress as far as fish and wildlife legislation is concerned. All of our neighboring states have had antler restrictions and stricter limits for years. Crossbows were legal elsewhere before here, etc. No serious attempts at hog control will be made until big money industries suffer from damages caused by hogs. You let the timber companies lose enough money due to hogs destroying seedling pines or let the cattle producers suffer major losses to a disease transmitted by hogs and THEN you'll see real changes. Shame it has to be that way. Just ask Texas, I believe they refer to their overpopulation of feral hogs as an "epidemic".

I agree, I live very close to the Bodcau WMA and would love yo be able to hunt hog off season there. Heck, you'd think their protected or something. Even with my close proximity, I only have hogs show up on my place once every 3 or 4 years. I think I like huntin hogs better than deer.
