what is better to use for berger bullets. the G1 BC or the G7. what are you guy/gal using? from what i have read it looks like the G7 is more accurate???????

The G7 BC is more appropriate for VLD's and most BT bullets.

Just make sure you set the ballistics program to G7. If you give it a G7 BC and the program is set to G1, the results will be meaningless.

The G7 method is based on a model that is closer to the modern bullet shape and therefore
will be more accurate if you calculate trajectories before you shoot.

If you do the range testing you will find the G7 will be closer to your range results. The only issue
with the G7 method it that the Ballistic Coefficient will be Much lower than the G1 BCs and that is
why bullet makers use the G1 method (Higher BC numbers sell bullets)

I recently did a test to determine BCs (Am going to post the results soon) of a fine bullet and
the G1 BC was .637 and the G7 BCs were .308 so you can see why they like the G1 method.

If the numbers don't worry you then go with the G7 method and you will be happier with the
results.
