Looking for opinions on which cartridge to choose to push a 190 atip around 3,000fps. Rifle will be used for shooting steel targets. Have a long action with magnum bolt face. 1000 rds of barrel life would be great. First thought was a 7rem mag with a 28" barrel, but not sure it will get there and shoot well there? Don't have a problem with wildcats but would rather go with the straight forward option. So what would you guys choose to move forward with?

Open to other options as well.
28 Nosler
7mm rem mag
7-300prc
7-300win

I'm building a 7 Sherman Mega for the 190LRHT, and expecting to run 3000mv also.
Starting with a 28-29" barrel.
Looks like you have 3 options listed to get to 3000 easily.
28 Nosler would seem the simple choice, and you wouldn't have to push on it. At all.
I'm trying to stay shorter/ larger diameter fwiw.

Would you happen to know the bearing surface measurement on 190 A-Tips?

Hornady won't give me the length.?!

FWIW I had a 26" 7RM that I lengthend the throat to use the 190 LRHT. Could get to 2848 FPS with N570 . Those powders are barrel burners though. H1000 may be a little slower, but may get a little better life out of it. But 100 FPS difference ain't enough to matter.

7-300 prc 30 inch barrel
7-300 win mag 30 Inch barrel
7-300 wsm throated long for long action 30 inch barrel

Might try the 7 prc with long barrel 30 plus inches throat it longer. I had one 26 inch barrel n565 190 bergers right at 2880ish if I remember
