Ok which bullet?

Pretty cut and dry I'd say

"Hammers or Barnes? 7mm"
Negative!

We'll, I'd love to be a hammer guy, but after rebarreling my 25-06 with an 8 twist barrel so I could shoot the 116 grain hammers, it still won't shoot past a hundred. At a hundred yards, 1/2-5/8" groups are the norm. At 200 yards, 4" is the norm. I give up.
There's more to it than meets the eye. Drop down in weight and you'll probably be surprised. Hammers are a different breed and spin rate is a major determining factor. They are exceptionally easy to tune. I've seen naysayer videos when they were under spun with less than optimal results and after shooting them for the past five years in nearly fifty rifles, they are not as advertised, they are more. Terminal performance is exceptional and tuning is simple. What more could you ask for with a hunting bullet? I will also say that I never had a failure with Barnes and took a ton of deer and elk with them. On the flip side Hammers have shown better accuracy and their killing ability is second to none. As Forest would say, "that's all I have to say about that,".

Have you made a decision yet? Your 7RM should serve you well. I've tried many different pills in mine. The Hammers worked well, but pay attention to your barrel twist rate to make sure you appropriately stabilize the bullet. The 143 HH worked the best in my 9.5 twist. The 120HH maybe to light for your purpose, but it really screams in velocity.

I'm shooting a browning xbolt . 1-8 twist. I'm gonna try the 143 hammers

Yep I saw that and one again completely off topic and absolutely no input to the OP's question, another complete derailment.
It's a shame
You seem to be the only one having an issue with my response to @KurtB, not the OP (@Cnkhunting) or @RCMSTER.

I clearly remember @Len Backus reminding the LRH community to ignore it if we do not like it. And yet, you cannot just leave it alone. You started the derailment attempt, not me.

Gentlemen, here's the deal, the OP ask what bullet (Barnes or Hammers) for a 7mm. I realize that there's been water under the bridge that I'm not privy to, however I've shot them all and love them all, as they all work but some better than other for intended objectives. From what I've experienced, Hammers have performed exceptionally well on deer and elk with no failures. I never had a failure with Barnes either. I've had failures with Sierra's, Bergers and Nosler Accubonds and ballistic tips.

Sir, I appreciate you quoting me, but there is no need to bring unnecessary dirty laundry. If you want to remain objective, let me know what is wrong with my response to @KurtB, regardless of what the OP is asking. As far as I know, @Len Backus has not restricted anyone from responding to any posts as long as we respect each other; I believe I have done that.
Feenix and Butterbean

Please let me know when you each have placed the other on IGNORE.
Sir, he has been on my ignore list for a long time, along with 74 others.

Is there a rule I'm not aware of that says you cannot have a side discussion in a thread? Can we not talk about other rifles, optics, cartridges, bullets, etc other than what was specifically mentioned in the OP? If we're not trash talking anything or anyone, and bringing up legitimate topics, concerns, etc, I guess I don't see the problem. I'm not trying to be sarcastic or condescending here, I'm serious. I'm also not angry or anything, just to be clear.

I totally get the reasoning of not liking derailing a thread and getting off topic, but if I'm honest a lot of times when I see that get called out my perspective is that that person tends to not like either what is being discussed or the person doing the derailing.

It just seems like unnecessary bickering to me. Maybe I'm wrong. Obviously this comment in itself is a derailment of the OP, but I feel it's justified at this time. I just wanted to add my two cents. I'll let it be next time if that's what I should do.

I'm pretty sure you have seen the angst and even anger that has been projected when people that like Hammer Bullets and interjected so in other threads without it being the topic of the op. I could be wrong but I distinctly remember @FEENIX having a very big issue with it and proclaiming that he did not want LRH to be about Hammer Bullets. Then started the crusade led by @FEENIX and his followers to make sure to monitor and inject other options to Hammer Bullets whenever possible. You know, for the sake of knowledge and choices. You have played a major role in role in this yourself. So, don't play ignorant.
