Shoot 6.5x55 from a 6.5 creedmoor rifle...

WHY is there more than one pager this thread? Seems there should only be 3 potential answers.

QUESTION: - Can I fire a cartridge that was never intended to be fired in a differently chambered firearm?

ANSWERS: 1.WHY are you even considering this? Perhaps you need a gun safety course before posting again. 2. Yes - you can do it once. Tell us where to send flowers. 3. NO......
Cheaper to just get a M38 action Husqvarna. He is on the wild cat route. How did the original wildcatters do it?

The 6.5X55 Swedish is sort of a peculiar round in that the head diameter measures .480 vs .473 like most common rounds like .243W, .270W, .30-06, .22-.250 and others. In addition, the 6.5X55 is longer & has much more body taper.

It just won't fit. A rechamber & set back job might work depending on rifle type.

The 6.5X55 is sort of an odd ball round. I have heard that the famous BAR has been chambered for the 6.5X55.

Finally a great answer.

I've been disappointed in a lot of threads here before, but this one takes the cake. The guy asked a serious (to him) question as his first post and here come all the bada$$ veterans with their all knowing witty remarks. Hope your egos have been exercised enough. AND THE THREAD IS OVER A YEAR OLD!!

Indeed. I can only imagine the original poster has a chamber that's suitable for modification by a professional gunsmith and he was just exploring the possibilities. If he has a strong single shot Action like a falling block it might be possible. Then again you see the crusty side of old farts and wise cracks looking for validation. I guess their parents never gave them enough attention. Be that as it may, the original poster wants more power and maybe more accuracy.

Sorry, I just got it new from Len for the first time this morning in our email feed from him. I guess I will look closer before replying.
