Now you need to make a matching ammo box. My best friends father does woodwork of your caliber and it's absolutely astounding to me what some guys can make with wood.
A man after my own heart....
I was asked to "make us something" by one of my girls for Christmas a couple years ago. That's my full size PX4 storm for size reference. Lift out tray is purpleheart and hard aromatic cedar. Box is burled walnut. Last image has the first of 16 hand rubbed varnish coats applied. The boxes can only be opened by manipulating 4 pieces of trim on the box. There is no visible "lock"
Just messing with a diamond in diamond inlay made from a block of mesquite from my smoking wood. Thinking on inlaying it on the bottom of a fore end of a laminated stock. Not quite sure yet. Opinions?
I like that idea. But I think your ability is kinda being wasted on this little stuff. So come on down to Texas and finish my kitchen hahaha. I will load you up with all the mesquite you want to carry for your troubles .
