Anyone using these? Looking at the 4K 3-14 Pro. Hogs out to maybe 200 yds. Will upgrade the illuminator.
Thanks, Rhett

Well I can say I used mine for a total of maybe two nights tossed it. I've never been impressed with the atn especially the night vision. The thermal seems better but I am not a fan of that company.
I would say save and get a thermal. Juts my opinion. You will be much happier. 200 yards to me was impossible with my atn.

Thanks Snox. I talked to one of their reps and he did say that the illuminator that comes with it was good out to 100-125 yds. Next upgrade illuminator would get you close to 300. How was it in daylight?

I don't have any first hand experience but I know people who do. They have had no issues. Atn has made improvements to their day/night digital scopes. They have had less than stellar reviews over the past few years because the first release of that scope had allot of issues. It's kept me from buying atn products. The sightmark wraith has gotten some good reviews. I don't know how well digital does at 200 yds. For a thermal, seems like you would need at least a 320 or 384 with a base magnification of 3 to 4 if you need to get 200 yds.

So I was not able to get any real distance out of the stock ir light I bought a set of sniper hog lights and did the ir. Still would never get you close to 300. Maybe 100 and that's if you had nothing close as it would wash out the screen from reflection. Daylight the scope was actually pretty good if hunting over a feeder. They get a ton of pixel shift if moving which made it tougher to use but not to bad. It's just not worth the crap at night.

Gotcha. How long ago was your purchase? I've read they've improved. Not just from Jim's post, but other forums also but feel more comfortable w/ feedback here. Also not ready to dump a lot of $$ in to night hunting just yet. Looking at hog lights at the feeder also but that would limit me to one area maybe two.

I bought the ATN 5-20x Pro this past season for hogs. The illuminator that came with it didn't work right off the bat but ATN was great and sent me a new one no questions asked and didn't want the bad one back. Turns out the battery was defective so once I changed that out, I had two 850 illuminators. The illuminator(s)s that come with it are only good for about 50-75 yds in my opinion. However, I bought this one off Amazon and it's amazing.

LUMENSHOOTER A10 Ultimate 1000 Lumens Green Hunting Light Flashlight with Rubber Halo Shield, Red White 850nm Infrared IR Torch, Long Range Zoomable Scope Light for Predator, Coyote, Varmint, Hog

Amazon product ASIN B08NPFWW68
It comes with four interchangeable bulbs so you can run white, red, green or IR light at 1000 lumens. When I mounted this on the rifle, it made all the difference in the world and easily reached out to 100 yards. Not sure if it would do 200 though.

That being said, I have my ATN and both 850 illuminators up for sale right now. Despite getting it work well with the improved light, I didn't like the night blindness you suffer every time you look away from the optic. Unless you're viewing remotely on a tablet or phone (the optic has those and many more features) you have to look through it to see what's going on out in the dark. When you take your eye away from the relatively bright light inside the optic, you can't see **** for a while. I re-mounted my regular Leupold scope and plan to try the 1000 lumen light on green or red next season.

I heavily recommend against buying from ATN. I have their Night Arrow 6 scope. A cross bolt on the mount broke. I called ATN support and talked to Farris Oran in January of 2020. He said the only way I could get through customer support to the guys in supply wold be if I wrote 5 positive reviews of their items I never purchased on 5 different sights. He even gave me the exact fraudulent paragraphs to post including positive reviews of his service. He insisted if I didn't comply he wouldn't allow my warranty request to be processed.
I am now the satisfied owner of a Pulsar Trail 2 XP 50. There were 2 minor issues with the scope when it arrived. Their customer service was quite happy to help me without extortion. Great customer service!

Bought one to try about 14 months ago. Had it a week and sent it back. Maybe I expected too much. I tried better illumination but it didn't help with what I wanted. Just poor quality image - maybe someone else would have been happy with it but I wasn't.

I think the ultimate setup for hunting out of a blind at night is to stream your night vision scope to a tablet. Atn seems to make that easy with some of their stuff.
