Browning X Bolts

Yup it was a awesome shooter.
Easy to load for ! It shot the 143eldx , 140 elites and 156 all at 1/2 moa or less with no real load development just loaded up and had loads first time out. That doesn't happen often.
I thought so, I will load for it later. My practice on a new factory gun is to shoot 2-3 boxes of factory ammo through it before I load anything. Just makes me feel better about everything. But when they shoot like that right out of the box, you know you've got something.

Here's my 6.5 PRC Browning X-Bolt Pro W/ carbon fiber stock in bronze Cerakote over stainless barreled action with matching Talley rings and a Bushnell LRTS 4.5 - 18 x 44 illuminated G3 reticle. Scope has been Cerakoted OD. Nekked rifle is 6 lbs. 3 0z.

This setup is for longer ranges here in Nevada. With Hornady 147 gr. ELD-X I get repeatable 3/4" groups and some 1/2" groups. (1st 3 shots only B/C the skinny barrel heats up and opens groups gradually to 1.5".)
BTW, X-Bolt Pro models have factory lapped barrels and thus get little copper fouling.

KNIFE: HELLE GT laminated blade, made in Norway SLING: Browning

I had mine painted and a Timney trigger in it.
Other than that it was stock rifle.
I love the McMillan version of the xbolt.

I had a less than ideal experience with the A-Bolt but it was years ago. If they are as good as some of you have experienced I would like to try an X-Bolt Speed Suppressor Ready in 6.5 PRC and suppressed. It would not be my main LR rifle but I would use it in AR for Deer/Hogs from up close to 600 or so.

i have 2 x-bolts - both are Hells Canyon Long Range. the max would have been nice for the stock cheek adjustment as well as the grip and fore end. that said mine both shoot great. one is 6.5 Creedmoor and the other 6.5 PRC (what i wished the creedmoor had been) but with multiple hunters in the family we all carry the CM cartridge when deer hunting. works great all carrying the same bullets… both these rifles have been used to shoot milkjugs and steel (12" and 18") at 1000 yards.

wouldn't hesitate to get a Max if i were you.

happy shopping and happy shooting!!!

My son prints .5 inch groups at 200 easily! I never seen anything like it! I want one but I'm afraid after my trade ins, mine won't shoot that good! It's sick he one holes it at 100 looks like it was shot with a 38. 6.5prc

I've got 2 Xbolts. 7mm08 hunter whitetail rig which shoots 120-140 into 3/4 at 100 and a grey synthetic that started as a.280 and is now a AI with a 26" barrel. I shoot 140-160 grain out of it with about the same size grouping as 7-08. Only issue I have is the trigger sux but can be worked on.

Midway - Timney for your Xbolt. No problem.

I was going to go that route but my gunsmith was able to work them and are pretty good now. Not as good as a Timney but good enough for a hunting rifle. I prefer a 3.5 pound trigger for hunting and looked like timney heaviest was 2.5. I'll take another look in case I was mistaken

The new modles have the feather trigger, from what I've read and suppose to be sweet.
