Why is everyone selling their Vortex Razor HD LHT's?

I've seen a ton of these scopes "lightly used" for sale all over multiple forums lately. I've read great things about this scope and was planning on diving on one for a build. But I've seen enough to be concerned. Maybe its just me. Has anyone else noticed?

Probably due to the Gen 2? 4.5-22 ffp being out now.

Could also be just due to sheer volume, it's a very popular scope, lots of them out there. Kinda like how there are so many F150s for sale.

Concerned? Why? It's a combo of the two posts above and people are always selling things. I can go find multiple posts on many forums for almost every popular brand. The LHT are a solid optic. Why people sell things are usually tough to figure but also the time of year and people needing money can come into it too. Who knows but the LHT scopes are solid performers.

I think it is probably the introduction of the LHT 4.5-22. FFP and more magnification for 2 ounces heavier. People always wanting the newest and improved.

I've only used mine for a couple weeks this season, but have been happy with it. The illumination button is probably my only gripe, and even at that, it actually works just fine. I've been very happy with it. My wife used my rifle several times this year and I'm a little worried about "ownership" of my scope, now

Not saying folks are doing this….but many are offered discounts for various things with vortex and recently there was even a bonus discount making it extremely affordable. Some may buy at the steep discount just to check out for a bit and move on for break even or even a small profit. Obviously not the intent of the pro deal but I've always found it funny when the super discounts roll out how much stuff for those brands hit the forums shortly after.

I see this for Sitka and other stuff too. Not just vortex fwiw.

Or they used it for their hunt this year and would rather have the cash than have it tied up all year.

If the price is right (stupid high asking prices now) snag it they are a solid scope. If you can wait a year to so I'm thinking you will see all kinds of quality gear for sale at a much more reasonable price. To your question as to why. I see a lot of people who just appear to like to spend money and have what they believe is one step better than their buddy or another person even at the range. If you can hold on for another year or so I think you will see all kinds of stuff for sale at a very reasonable price.

There are some great deals on scopes out there now and many new MFGs that have entered the shooting optics world. Over the last 2 years I try and buy scopes that are NOT made in China or the Philippines…. I've had some reliability issues with them. Unfortunately this takes out most of the Vortex line with the exception of their high end line of scopes. Not sure why the Razor LHTs are showing up more that others in the classifieds but it would be a good question to ask the seller.

I have a few and I think for the money they are one of the better hunting scope out there. When I bought mine I was apprehensive about the dot, it's my favorite feature…I don't have any FFP models because my eyes can't see FFP crosshairs/dots in low light and low power so I avoid them.

Only Vortex I ever owned was one of those discounted purchases as mentioned above. Tried to love that thing but just couldn't. Optically was good but the size/weight was a no go for me. Sold it ( at a huge "discount" from what I paid) and went back to my Leupolds.

Different strokes for different folks and nice that there's choices.
