Afternoon,

I'm pretty sure after the holidays my 300 win mag is getting a brake, not for recoil but so I am able to spot my shots. What are you guys using with a brake when hunting for hearing protection. I'm not looking to be packing muffs for when I'm hunting. I've been looking at the Axil GS Extreme but haven't committed, and would like to see what everyone is using with a brake.

Thanks all!

I just wear the orange horseshoe type around my neck till I`m set up to shoot.
I bought a few pairs of these to bring along with my daughter for her deer hunt, these are my main plan at the moment but wanted to see if there are other options I might explore. Thanks for the resonse!

I use the Otto Noizebarrier Micro for all types of hunting. Comfortable to leave in, fit under a beanie, and the battery lasts all day. Better than fumbling with putting ear pro in while time is critical on a shot.

+3 on the horseshoe plugs. They are a little dirty from 3 seasons of hunting, buy they are comfortable to wear around the neck. Quick and easy to put in the ears when your ready to pull the trigger. Lost an expensive electronic ear plug while in the field prior to picking these up.

I have Otto Noizebarrier ear plugs. They are awesome, come in a small "Pelican" type storage case (about the size of a pack of cigarettes) that recharges them when you put the plugs in it. They can be recharged 20 times before the case itself needs a recharge from a USB cord/plug. They come with silicone ear plugs or foam, depending on which is the most comfortable. They come on with just a push of a button, and that gives you normal hearing. Push the button again and you get enhanced hearing, that allows you to pick up sounds that might not be audible without the ear plugs. I was able to hold a conversation at a whisper with my guide, and could clearly hear him. Muzzle blast on my .340 Wby was reduced to a non-damaging level. All day comfort, able to hear low sounds, and rechargeable make them the best in hearing protection avaliable. Costs around $400 retail, but can be found for around $360 on sale. First responders get a discount on their website.www.otto-comm.com

What are these? More info please

I have the Axil GS Extreme and it works as advertised. Do a search on this site for muzzle brakes as this subject has been discussed plenty of times.
