6.5 cm max elk range?

I wouldn't say too far with the Creedmoor but you're getting out there ,you need on average about 1800 ft./s to mushroom most bullets properly although some advertise down to 1300 ft./s

Yes, i think its about max for me and 6.5cm.
Barely petaled out the coper jacket... but the bull went down to one shot in the ribs and one to the shoulder.

The velocity needed for the bullet to expand is the what should determine your shooting distances. When you run those numbers you will find the creedmore max distance should be somewhere around 600yds.

As far as I am concerned 200 yds is max for a 6.5 needmore!
This bull fell at 505yds.
The creedmore was what I had in my hands that day, and I contemplated long and hard about taking the shot. I'd been practicing at 400, and center punched him......On that day, I guess I didnt needmore. :) But its not my first choice for sure.

nice bull! how many times you have to shoot him!!

My son dropped his in 1 shot at 390 yds with 143 ELDX, well placed, double lung. To the OP, because you said Creedmoor, there will be the very tired, very worn-out responses from all of the folk who love to hate it. Perhaps if you posted ... the projectile with a velocity, you'd get more usable info.
