I'm looking for some insight on the 33xc. I can't find much on case overall length. My main concern is if I can make it a repeater out of a 4in box? Also does anyone have any real world experience with the 33xc and the 338 edge?

I never really dug to deep before I moved onto something else, but the case is 3.087 That's .415 longer than a Lapua mag case Although I hear there may be some longer mags in the works,
Practically for action / mag compatibility would be a cip length mag at 3.850 oal So I highly doubt you would run anything worth while from the xc at that length.

Swamplord off this site has developed a few wildcats that might suit your needs 300 razor 338 werewolf and others Which would be cip mag compatible and apparently have good horsepower

I'd say no way on the repeater. From the research I've done a 33xc will get 150-200fps over the Edge with the 300gr bullets.
I'd like some info on that 338 werewolf

I've had both
the 33xc is not a repeater friendly cartridge .. 3150 in a 30" barrel
the 338 werewolf is a bad SOB but PRO has since changed all the dimensions and such too his new design only for the use with RCC brass .
i had his early version which ran norma brass 500 Jeff and it just couldn't handle what it was made for!! .. with the new RCC brass im sure it will be a **** stomper

A 338 Terminator would get you pretty close in velocity and would allow for a repeater if you build with BDL style bottom metal that allows a 4" COAL.

I'm currently ordering parts for one that might get finished in 2023, if I'm lucky:
  • Terminus Krato's X action - need to order
  • Bartlein 30" 1:9 twist, in their MOD400BB barrel material- (about 10 months wait to go)
  • Manners LRH stock - (about 10 months wait to go)

More than likely I won't be using as a repeater. Recoil will likely cause damage to the bullet tips. Going repeater in case the practical me wins over and I drop down to a 338 Norma Improved.

My brother is going 33XC (Definace action, proof carbon barrel). He's going single shot. He wants every FPS he can get without going Cheytac. *Rifle weight limits in Idaho for hunting.

The XC is not repeater friendly as others have said. The .338 Norma Improved or a .338 Lapua Improved/Terminator would be the way to go.

Question ??
Would you try a 33xc on a Remington action ? I'm ok with the single feed set up.
I have a donor 338 Edge barrel 30" I could use !!
Thanks in advance !

I've read somewhere that Remington actions are good for 200k psi.
Can anyone affirm this?
Brass is always the weakest link I believe.

I'm not looking for a Bolt in my Eye anytime soon !
There is a fella on here (gnbruce) that has built XC's on a Remington action. I personally would not. I bought a Savage 112 .338 Lapua (single shot) and have been playing with a 33XC. There's a little more "meat" to that action/bolt than a 700.

Edited: the reason I wanted a little more beef is because when you see the size of that case you may too.😁
Meant nothing against gnbruce.
