I bought and paid for some bullets on this forum...They shipped feb.5 then on Feb.9 next trac update said in transit, arriving late...contacted usps my end march 8... Alaska..and they couldn't find anything...said seller would have to make claim on his end Illinois..I e-mailed that info to seller..yesterday,,no joy today will give more time to respond....so here I sit no bullets and out $118.00..any thoughts?...Al

If this helps any, my friend and coworker who is also on LRH sent a rifle several states to the east and after it seemed to be lost, it showed up back on his porch several weeks after it was originally sent. Also, I sent my crewman a check and it took a week to go 60 miles in state. Out postal systems are really messed up.

Lots of packages taking an obscene amount of time to get from point A to point B lately. I received a set of scope rings from a member here about a week ago. It took 19 days to travel 300 miles and for almost two weeks of that, there was zero tracking change on the USPS website. Their service has become abysmal of late. Have patience...it will most likely show up eventually.

I would give it a little more time. I've had several instances in the last year with both sending and receiving where items / checks don't show up for over a month and usps has no new info for items with tracking numbers. Sent a check to Texas from Montana and the gentleman didn't receive it until almost a month past. Also had a ton of packages do the same thing as what you speak of. Seems like they are either on time or it almost takes a month or better to magically show up to the house.

best of luck

A bunch of stuff I have received through usps has seemed to just hang up somewhere for a few weeks. Luckily everything has eventually showed up. Sad but no fault on either side but our postal service as a whole is a joke.

I recently had a package caught in USPS purgatory (20 days). I signed up for the alerts for that tracking number on the USPS web site, and miraculously the package moved two days later, and was delivered two days after that. I don't know if it was coincidence, but it seems odd that the moment I started "looking" for my package and wanted to know where it was in their system, someone at USPS must have started "looking" for it, too.

I think our postal system needs revamp
They are the worst and it is terrible, and if you offer to pay more and go ups they have a contract and sub contract with usps and Hans it off.I sometimes ask the seller on forums for their address and cell number so if I have to investigate where my package is, I think we all should share that information

The postal service has been the worst the last 10 months or so! I've had 2-3 day priority packages take over 30 days with most exceeding 2 weeks. Even in the same state or 1 state away. One was lost in transit and took over 3 weeks before it showed movement again.

I sent a high dollar money order recently that was about a 2-1/2 hour drive and took almost 2 weeks to get there. I could go on and on. They are pretty bad at trying to weasel their way out of claims as well, don't get me started there lol. Maybe they need to defund the post office since that apparently helps situations haha.

I'd give the seller a few days to respond, benefit of the doubt. Could be out of town, or out of service. Hope it works out for you.

Al,

As others noted, give it a few more days. Most buyers and sellers here are good people. I had a transaction with a member about a year or so. I sent my payment (personal check) via USPS to the seller, and he shipped the item to me the same day I sent it. Over a month, and he did not receive the payment yet. I canceled the check and sent another payment. IIRC, the day he received the 2nd payment, he received the 1st one. The seller sent me a nice ceremonial video burning the canceled check. The key is we remain in contact throughout the process, and I felt that we became close friends. 😇

Hopefully, it works out for the best. Cheers!
