You are also confusing the issue, the bullet doesn't go up you are aiming up. The bullet never rises from the bore line.

I lied, I thought of another way to explain it.

Same rifle, same vice. You put a 4' level on your barrel and level it. Pull the trigger.

The bullet will be lower than your barrel at every point from 1" from the barrel until it impacts the earth. It will be dropping constantly from the instant it leaves the barrel

Aerodynamics only slow down the efficiency of gravity.

Did you all know that a bullet at the same height as the rifle barrel and pushed off the bench will strike the earth the same time a shot projectile will?

Gravity acts the same on both bullets. Well.....unless it's a 6.5 CM

Ok everyone up-date.
I found the 2 screws holding action to stock very loose. Did not notice this at range. Found this morning, called manufacturer and got torque value. Applied purple loc-tite, torqued screws. Extremely windy today so shooting will have to wait. Will keep updating with range results.

I didn't read all the way through, but I was wondering if anybody brought up the possibility that the rifle is actually sighted in to hit the target at say 400 yards?? It was dead on at 100 when he shot it, and but that was where the bullet first crossed the line of sight, and it was continuing to rise to the top of the trajectory arc, thus making it hit high at 200. If he would have shot a target at 400, the bullet would have crossed the line of sight there (making it zeroed at 400). I can't offer any other explanation.

Laelkhunter because of gravity and the arc the bullet will have to travel the further you zero your rifle the closer the the first zero will be.
