Ok gentlemen and ladies, with our current reloading components shortage I have a question about 2 similar burn rate powders Hodgdons 50 BMG and Shooters World BMG.
I've been using H-50 in a 300 Lapua mag and just purchased 2 lbs of Shooters BMG.
Now the question My charge weight of H is 102grs what would the SW equate to on that seeing how we have a heavy grain opposed to a ball type. Any input would great as long as it isn't negative and off the wall BS

You will have to do some load development. See data below, or if not there then do a Google search for better info.

I already looked at that and the Lovix data as well. Hoping for a little bit more info. Probably drop the charge by 10%

With QL a drop in pressure of 15 000 (15K) psi is normally found between start and max loads. Applying that gives a load of 97gr with the Shooters for such a drop. A 24 inch barrel indicates 2900fps with that load. See what you get when shooting that load. If much above, tread warily up to 3100fps. That is near max pressure. Shout if you have a different barrel length and I can use that in the calcs.

SW BMG, is a new powder, to the US anyway, and you should definitely do a pressure test work-up, in your rifle.

It's a 26" with a brake and an 11 1/2 twist. It loves 165-180 gr pills
