Be nice to hear what the OP found in his range outing yesterday, lol
if I were betting on this, it seems like mil turrets. I say this because I tried jacking with bc and velocity to get his drops. There were no reasonable changes to get to his actual drops. Then there is the wind. My guess is there was some wind.
When OP's go silent like this it's usually a tell tale sign of operator error. Hopefully we find out so we can all learn something. Anyways..... time to move on to the next.
The only reason I doubted turrets as first is because windage was close. You would think the problem would affect both elevation and windage, assuming the mistake was repeated. A cat fart @ 900 yards moves a bullet.
Not always, lolWhen OP's go silent like this it's usually a tell tale sign of operator error. Hopefully we find out so we can all learn something. Anyways..... time to move on to the next.
Lol. Just because you can shoot a good group at 1K doesn't mean that it is smack dab on the target. Getting first round hits at distance takes a lot of skill/range time if the conditions are not dead calm. Not always, lol
Was a similar problem awhile back, not as drastic, guys dope for a 400 yard target was off but good at 675 or so. Consensus was target distance was off. Month went by, OP pops back in and verifies. Not all issues are emergencies, lol
I was in a post about hitting a softball at 1K, ignorant post if I must say, I'd have to find it, but I think I said I was going to go tackle a 5" square at 1K. Well, my results flat out sucked, and I did not bring attn to myself. It was windy.
Haha, I think that was the common theme in the softball post. Yet one guy claimed to be the USPS as far as delivering impacts, rain, snow, hurricane, dead of night, etc... Heck maybe even William Tell the softball at 1K with a trusty 270 winLol. Just because you can shoot a good group at 1K doesn't mean that it is smack dab on the target. Getting first round hits at distance takes a lot of skill/range time if the conditions are not dead calm.
When I first built my 6x47 Lapua, we stretched out the steel to 920. It held about 1.5 to 2" of vertical but they were strong out all across the target and some off the steel. Breezy and shooting over a low lying area definitely played havoc with my accuracy that day.

Rough crowd some of you guys are.. He posted an update last night at 6:57 PM. I know i can't get to the range at the drop of the hat. The people who posted drop in mil have all proven the problem is moa/mil mismatch. There might be more than one small problem, but the 5+MOA difference is only explained by it, and it's too close to be coincidental.
Rough crowd some of you guys are.. He posted an update last night at 6:57 PM. I know i can't get to the range at the drop of the hat. The people who posted drop tables in mil have all proven the problem is moa/mil mismatch. There might be one or more additional small problems like the atmospheric pressure, but the lion's share of the 5+MOA difference is only explained by the mismatch, and mathematically it's too close to be coincidental.
Ha! I stand corrected. I do know who the OP is, but I guess I didn't pay close enough attention when reading the response. My apologies.I think you may be off on your times and confused as to who the OP is friend. I show he posted last at 9:41 AM and mentioned he was on his way to the range yesterday afternoon. Not being rough. I don't see a post from the OP at 6:57 PM last night. Maybe Tuesday you're talking about unless I'm missing something. No worries though. Just curious what he discovered.
No worries all good here.Ha! I stand corrected. I do know who the OP is, but I guess I didn't pay close enough attention when reading the response. My apologies.
What? I poured my heart and soul into my responses to the op, I demand a response.Rough crowd some of you guys are..
