need new rifle for targets/roebuck and like

here (europe) i have option to order tikka t3x varmint and wait or buy bergara b14 sporter varmint
i was thinking first to go in .223 (cheap to reload fast etc)
but friend tell me that is maybe better to go for .243
cause not much rifles in varmint size in that cal .223 (europe)

so what is opinion cal vise ? (i will be looking up to 300m target and hunt medium game
for rest have 30-06 )

price of b14 sporter varmint locally is around 1000€
for tikka t3x varmint 1600€ and wait is month or around
so if b14 is good i could save 600 and get rcbs rc supreme kit and 2-300 ammo for reloading

they all are 1:10 twist rate
i know that tikka is great rifle by reading on this site ,don't have clue for b14 sporter varmint
anyone have experience with b14 sporting varmint ??

for ammo i read 70gr Sierra Match King is best out of 1:10

95gr are good but expand group a bit so vld is how i read not so good

so can anyone help here what to do ?

I would think for medium game the 243 might be better for you. If you are going to shoot mostly target the 223 is probably the better choice. And in the US there are about a billion varmint rifles in 223, by far the most common caliber, so I'm surprised to hear the opposite is true in Europe.

Can't help on the Bergara, never been around one.

I had to search out the model you asked about because it is a European variant which is not available here in the US.

I think this is the one you're looking for.

The prices I saw are right at the one you quoted which includes all of your taxes.

Bergera has sent me several rifles to have some minor customizations performed for the US market. The ones I've worked with were excellent quality as far as steel and wood were concerned. All shot very acceptable groups using factory top shelf ammunition.

Personally I'd opt for the .243 Win. chamber if hunting was on your agenda. But .223 Rem. will also dispatch smaller game efficiently also. Make your bullet choice properly and go for it.

There is never a question about Tikka rifles. Your choice is to wait or not to wait.

I would also look at 6.5 Creedmoor, as it would be more versatile for larger deer species.
Not all European countries allow .223 for Roe. England has minimum of .243 for Deer.

thanks for answers here in croatia roe minimum is .222/.223 so ok with that too
locally we have some semi autos (diamondback m4/H&K a3/norinco)
in .223 but only cz in bolt 527 mtr varmint version
have a ton non varmint versions but main idea is target first and later to use in hunt
and yes that is b14 sporter varmint on that pic ,look nice similar to tikka

6.5 cr is no go in europe .. shells cost like 4-5x .308 in germany even it's same just necked down
and no factory bullets ,well i never seen one

even they sell bergara b14 bmp and hmr in 6.5cr cal they don't have ammo in shop , cute ha

what u guys say for cz 557 varmint mtr in .243 same price like b14

I have heard some countries (not the USA) restrict the use of calibers that are used by military, so .223 might present a problem for you in some locations. In any case, the .243 is a good choice for hunting and for target.

All are good. You just need to weigh importance of price and wait time.

You won't go wrong with either! 243 or even 257 would definitely be my choice over 223. Bergara is getting some pretty great reviews...so for me Vergara and no wait and your loading set up
