Big guns

I have never sold a gun, give them to my son as he needs them. Always looking for good actions, especially Hi Wall, Savage 110, Remington 700 and Winchester Model 70

I have a 35 Whelen, have shot deer and elk with it and it does a very fine job. The 35 Whelen is not as powerful as the 375 H&H but much closer then it gets credit for. As has ben noted in many post with the right bullet/load the 375 H&H is a fine cartridge on North American game and will not ruin any more meat than a .270Win. or 30-06 as long as you use the right bullet. I got a 400 Whelen this year and can't wait to use it on game.

Good luck with the Whelen
Hope you have great success

Thanks, I hope you have a successful hunting season as well.
Your very lucky living in Montana, great fishing and hunting lol
Not sure if I will get out this year as I had a severe E coli infection and had to learn to walk again Caused by hurricaine Irma, cuba 2017
I live in Alberta Canada

I am a very big fan of big bore rifles. My son shoots a 378 Weatherby Improved called the 375 Zayne. I shoot a 375 rum. Excellent power, very versatile, awesome long range accuracy. Excellent caliber!

Jayson

Yes my sons dont hunt even though I taught them gun safety and had them shoot on a range but they both love to fish although I cant get them into fly fishing They live in Ontario and I am in Alberta retired Maybe its time to go back lol

I have one in SAKO 85, shoot 300 gr Barnes TSX in it. One shot kill on cape buffalo in South Africa this last May, the year before I used it on Nilgai, on the King Ranch--ironically it took two shots for the Nilgai. I'm surprised how accurate this big caliber rifle is--It'll shoot one ragged hole at 100 yds (using the lead sled and 50# of lead). It kicks a bit:)!

I have a custom brake for mine made by Precision Arms in Ontario Canada The gunsmith told me to use sticks and as usual he was right

I personally don't have the ol 375 H&h but a best friend does . And I get the pleasure to handload for it and try out loads . He's killed several deer and black bears with it. He's tried several different bullets through it but keeps coming back to the 200 gr sierras for some reason.
I do have a Winchester 348 that I've shot a few times I'd love to hunt with it but I'm worried I'd scratch it . It looks amazing for being made in 1949 according to Winchester. The only wear on it at all is slight blueing along the one side of the barrel. It sure is pretty but I'd love to try it in dark timber on some high mtn for elk someday.

I have a British 303 Enfield No 4 Mark 2 which I picked up for $35 Canadian in 1983
I spent 6 months making a beautiful black walnut stock for it by hand and later had the barrel polished and blued
Fitted it with a 4x9 scope and have used it on many deer hunts with success
The point I am getting to is that is has minor scratches on it because I wear a ring on my right hand but every scratch is a memory
