Has anyone used the Mesa Precision Arms model 700 Altitude stock?
I'd like to know what people think of the quality and ergonomics, and how much it weighs real life.

Curious to know the same info. I need a new Tikka stock they are one of my options. They don't say much about fine details, like what recoil pad is used, etc

I believe rfurman has some good info on these stocks or the guys on rokslide have a few reviews of stocks for both 700 and now tikka

I have three. Two on Christensen Arms Ridgelines and one on my Remington UML. Two are the painted version and the third is the carbon fiber mixed with blotches of color which is a very cool appearance.

I weighed them once and seam to remember that being 26-28 ounces. I was looking for something more suited for shooting prone. They are quality built stocks.

Both stocks needed some attention to fit to my Christensen Arms action, similar to but not identical to a Rem 700, but nothing difficult. The barrel channel fit perfect without any sanding necessary for a complete free floating barrel. I had to file down the side a little for a side bolt release. I trimmed the action screws, trimmed the mag box and bedded the actions.

They are a good stock that feel more tactical than sporting but still easy to use in any shooting position. The forearm isn't bulky and doesn't have a flat bottom. The raised cheek fit me fine with a 50mm lens and 30mm main tube scope. The vertical grip and palm swell are comfortable.

I'm not completely sold however. One of these rifles I'm switching to a Manners EH1 looking for more of a tactical feel for shooting prone.

I like mine it's at the gunsmith getting bedded so I haven't shot it yet. It did weight right at 26-27 oz quality was great for good feels good just laying there playing around with it seems super light and stiff and looks good too. I will proably be ordering one for a short action later.

Question to those that currently have them.
What kind of recoil pad is on it? I know McMillan offers a Decelerator or Limbsaver. I picked up a HS Precision and was not impressed with it. Not sure what it is, but just feels like solid rubber.
Is the LOP 13.5"? Or close to it?

Ok here are a few pics. Hope that helps. The stock on the scale has pillars, is inlet for a Sendero lite, has 3 studs, and the Tikka recoil lug. The fore end on my other stock is different in the barrel channel. It's just a factory sporter contour.

Welp there goes the notion of saving a few oz over the Tupperware Tikka stock......

On my scale the factory stock is 0.7oz lighter than the Mesa stock. The Mesa stock has 1 more stud in it also. At least its not a huge weight penalty.

My brother is going to be testing a stock soon for the T3 that is supposedly going to be in the 23oz range.

I'd like to hear some details on the 23oz stock!

Hmm
I have an EH1 and was considering swapping it for the altitude to save some weight.
Considering my EH1 fully bedded with pillars and studs weighs 32oz I think Ill just stick with it.
I love how it shoots prone so don't want to give that up.
Thanks for sharing
