Does anyone ever install iron sights on new custom rifles?

Yes I have a couple. An "Express Sight" on my .375 H&H, the original sights on my pre-war Model 70. Mostly aesthetic, my eyes aren't good enough to get much use from them. Likely won't do it again.

Many "dangerous game" rifles will have open sights. There is still a certain segment that commissions 'custom' big game and dangerous game rifles not intended as "long range". Wood stocked 'beauties' in classic chamberings.

Yes. I have several sight mounting jigs for mounting open sights. Sight mount drilling/tapping jigs.

Do you solder any instead of using screws?

Your question wasn't directed at me, but I have used solder on a few rifles/shotguns sights.......Force 44 from Brownells was what I used. All that I have did have held up well.

Yes, when the job calls for it. Might be unknown by many, but many of those "solder-on" sights have at least 1 hidden screw.
