Hangin' Coyote

Gents not to be a lame or a PETA person, but does anyone think this is ethical? Usually when I kill an animal I have a lot of respect for it, regardless of what it is. I personally feel like hanging up an animal is disrespectful. What are your thoughts? Do you think it works? Like a warning to other coyotes?

Nailing up snapping turtles? What's the thought behind that?

Only time we've ever hung up snapping turtles is to clean their guts out to keep their shells. Let Mother Nature do the work for the trophy. I had buddies who would keep them in fire ant mounds for about a week as well.

Varmints, including coyotes, are not bound by wanton waste laws. Legally, this would clear any penalties from hanging coyotes. Leave them where they die, hang'em on a fence, bury them, burn them... The State, makes no differentiation. So, I would subscribe to the camp that believes this issue really does come down to personal preference. I don't hunt dogs, so I really can't complain about how the people that provide a service of population control, dispose of the pests. If they can sleep easy at night and have no qualms about their actions, so be it. As far as hanging turtles, no clue. I guess they're sharing their trophies with the public.

Turtle shells have been valued through out time. From their use as currency, jewelry, or ornamentation. I even had a couple of shells when I was a kid. As to the coyote on the fence I was hoping several others had tried this and had a solid opinion and could give us some good insight.

I used to hang them by a gate on ranches I hunted to let the owners know that there was one less calf killer on his place...

morning, how can u show respect for an animal
that disembowels and eats the prey alive. does not
have respect to kill the prey FIRST!!! we as
humans have respect for our enemies that do not
respect us a soldiers. take respect and stick it
where the sun does not shine. learn, shoot, kill,
stay alive!!!! justme gbot tum

morning, I went to pick up some gun parts that I had
cerakote. this is fm 725 between McQuenny and New
Braunfels, TX. I saw a coyote hanging from a fence
post near the road. I have not seen this for at least
30years. BRAVO for this land owner. justme gbot tum

When fur wasn't worth much, I used to hang a coyote or two on the fence to show the land owner I had eradicated a coyote or two for him. I didn't hang them alongside well-traveled roads though. :D

i'm thinking very very old school, never ever seen one hanging on a fence, if hit by a car truck or what ever they lay there or get smashed by tires, if in the way.
You gotta broaden your horizons and get out of cheeseland now and then. :D

Hangin' Coyote. Was it a success? Would you believe no one said a word. I figured the neighbors would probably say something, but nope. He did say his wife wasn't real happy with him. As to causing other coyotes to leave he said he did not think it mattered.
