Reloaders Nest

Hey guys, try the Wayback Machine. Reloaders Nest is archived there. I'm working on downloading a complete copy of the site.

Edit: Site says I need 3 posts to post a link. If the above link doesn't show, try this, but replace the [dot] instances with an actual dot and remove the spaces:

Good thinking. I never remember to check that site. Been a "life saver" for many years now.

The link works! Thanks.

I checked the actual load data for several cartridges. Of those that I checked, there was no actual load data for the verified loads fields and there were some actual load data missing from the not verified loads fields. All loads I checked so far were 35 Whelen or larger.

Kevin.

Shoot, you're right. Looks like only a portion of the actual data is there.

I hope the rest isn't lost for good. I spent a lot of time on that site.

That makes two of us. I had posted over a dozen loads of various cartridges and bullet/charge weights on there. I have already recovered five of them. Still trying to recover the rest, though I have all my data recorded in my load notebooks. Had some other load data bookmarked on Reloader's Nest that I had referred to, for general information, that others had posted. Hope to gather and save as much as I can.

Has anybody tried to contact the sites registered owner?

I had this happen to a CO concealed carry site I used to frequent. I emailed the owner after a month or so only to find out he sold the site to an org/person he thought would be good stewards, but they shut it down instead. He was ****ed, I was ****ed but the new owners would not answer any emails.

Was the sites new owner's name Bloomberg??? Might be a new strategy for the anti-s!
Had it been that would have made more sense but no, it is a gun owners/2A org. Based on the fact that he let the forum die and can't be bothered to answer a simple email I quit donating to them. No response to that email either by the way. My guess is he just wanted the domain name, which still forwards to his site 4-5 years later, and did not want to actually deal with running the forum.

Bad deal but, at leadt it wasn't "Them darn anti-s"!

I've been "screen shoting" what data I can recover from the archive org. Seems all the Verified Load data is not there and some of the non-verified loads are missing, including the last 4 of some, to 15 of other loads of every one of the 20 or so cartridges that I've checked so far.

Yep, seems a bit suspect after all these years of RN being up and running, then all of a sudden while the left is working so **** hard to destroy our 2A rights, they would attempt to destroy reloader's info, too. They HATE folks who reload, because we don't rely on big corporate ammo manufacturers (that they can shut down) to keep our guns running, especially when the SHTF.

Yes, and we have a tendency to do our own gunsmithing. Some of us even build our own!

I just emailed the domain registrant. We'll see what, if anything, he comes back with. I did notice that the domain registration was renewed so that is positive. He uses domain privacy though so all I could do was email him through the proxy, I was not able to see his actual email address.

The site used to just be a black page for me. Today it is a registrars parked page saying it is under construction.

If and when the Reloader's Nest site ever comes back up, you can bet that I will be copying EVERY load there and backing it up on at least 3 different forms of media, stored at 3 different location! Way too valuable a bunch of information just to have lost!
