Reloaders Nest

I build all my own AR's. I don't have a lathe and a mill, or else I'd do my own bolt guns, too.

I too build my own ARs but, I build my own bolt guns too. I have a friend that owns a machine shop. Most of his equipment including all but 2 of his lathes and 3 of his milling machines, are CNC. I have a lot of custom barreled rifles, mostly Bartlein and Krieger but, all kinds. I do most of the work on the actions. My buddy has a gunsmith machinist at his shop that threads the barrels for me. He's really good! Beautiful threads, stainless or CM steel. :D

Thanks for the tech tip on the archive JLG, So about 4 years ago I moved and some stuff went missing, not sure if it was left in the moving van or lost along the way somehow. Anyway, it was alot of reloading equipment, dies, brass, reloading manuals and my most important personal reloading book with my favorite loads in for some of my guns. I finally found a dealer in Canada that can bring Redding Dies to Canada for my 22-243 Middlested, but the load I was using was gone. Well thankfully I had posted that load on Dec 18/2004 on reloader nest and last night found the posting. Thanks a bunch for sharing that archive trick. Saved me alot of shooting time!!!

All I'm seeing there as of this morning:

"Would you like to buy this domain?"

:(

Reloader's Nest is still down. Don't know if it will ever be back. Some of the guys here are doing their best to find out.

To see what data from Reloader's Nest that had been archived, on a site that does archiving of other sites, use the link originally provided by new member JLG:

https://web.archive.org/web/20170918164330/http://reloadersnest.com/

None of the "Verified Load Data" seems to be saved there but, most of the "Unverified Load Data" is there. Refer to my earlier post here for more details on what seems to be salvageable.

Yes, there is a lot of cartridges missing. Even last year I tried to submit 26 Nosler loads and didn't get listed.
So I suppose the site had been neglected for a long while.

Well, still have not had a response to my email so I called the number listed and left a vm. It too was a privacy proxy so not getting my hopes up.

MudRunner et al, I checked on GoDaddy about buying the name. They show that someone does own it.

It looks to me like the registrar Directnic either owns it or is a listing agent and is trying to sell it. My guess is unless someone knows how to dig up domain ownership archival records and can lookup the owner, pre-domain proxy, and get them to sell or donate the database then it is gone forever. I know you can still get some of the static pages from the way back machine but to rebuild this site, without manually entering everything in by hand, you need the database.

I really wish someone would buy it, and get back all the lost information for it. That was one hell of a wealth of knowledge, and is a complete shame for it be gone forever. I hope someone is able to get it up and going again with all the original load data.

Warning! This thread is more than 6 years ago old.
It's likely that no further discussion is required, in which case we recommend starting a new thread. If however you feel your response is required you can still do so.
