Who makes the best remage prefit barrel?

Title says it all... Criterion, Mcgowen, and maybe some others I haven't even heard of? Let's hear it!

My specific need is this, I have a remIngton action with a PT&G bolt, that has been trued up by PT&G on the way which is going to be set up for either .233 or .223 AI in 1:7 twist, and something close to a varmint contour. Would like to be able to shoot the heavy 80's and possibly 90's.
 
Greg at Southern Precision Rifles (bugholes.com) is doing remage barrels using his bugnut system. I currently have a Bartlein 5R barrel waiting to be chambered next month. They are more expensive but its because of the price of the barrels themselves being $330-$380ish. He charges $180 labor plus $40 for the barrel nut and $50 for wrench. If you google bugnut you will find a thread on snipershide explaining it with pictures. I wanted custom barrel with out the wait of getting one so went with the bugnut. Plus i am doing a wildcat so i was limited on remage barrel choices already. He is currently about 6 weeks out on them so thats not bad. Greg will chamber anything you want. You might have to rent a reamer but he can do it! Mine was not cheap at $760 but thats with shipping everything to me, the reamer back to Rich, and i spent some extra on the barrel like threaded muzzle ect. It was cheaper than if he would have put a shouldered barrel on my action and i'll get it alot sooner. The also has a bugnut for actions trued to the same thread pitch that he trues action to

The bug nut system is intriguing, though the cost is a bit offputting. it does offer some advantages, but tough to say if it's worth the added $$? I don't think i'm so hard set on a specific countour that I would worry about it.

Having the ability to work on an action that has had the threads trued and re-cut is a big bonus though.

I agree it is expensive compared to the existing prefit options. I wasn't getting a prefit to start with as noone offers a prefit in 300 Sherman so I had to go custom. Well this system actually saves me money & time. I can swap my existing shouldered barrel back on when ever i want! I'm going to epoxy the bugnut into place after i head space it that way the headspace it preset just like a shouldered barrel.
 
I only have one Criterion, but have been pretty impressed with it. Have shot 2" groups at 500 yards. Might be a mistake to overlook Criterion.

I've heard nothing but good things about them! If they would have chambered 30/06AI i would have bought one last year!! They wouldn't chamber it for me. Tried to sell me a 30/06 and said i could get a gunsmith to run a 30/06AI reamer in it. I will however be ordering normal chambers from them in the near future!
 
Mmy current favorite is Black Hole Weaponry / Columbia River. BHW uses polygonal rifling. I've used a number of others but never liked any of them as much as BHW.
 
I'd highly recommend McGowen, great value excellent customer service and they freaking shoot!
I've had three prefits from Mcgowen, one for a savage and two "Remages".
Turn around for a custom barrel is about 6-8 weeks.
Good luck with whatever you chose , the prefits are an awesome low cost option these days.
