26 Nosler????? !!!!!

So pretty much its a commercial 6.5 dakota? And the "factory" ammo will be the only perk which isnt much of a perk. If u want a hot rod 6.5 then u should reload anyway. Factory loads will be anemic anyway if it follows the "factory caliber trend". And there is the barrel life problem. Dont think we will see it hit 1000 rounds if loaded to its potential.

Same hype people went crazy about when the 7mm & 300 Ultras hit the market I suppose. A 264cal cartridge in a brand new case design that stomps any other commerical .264 caliber into the dirt.

People love performance (well, at least I do). The opportunity to buy factory ammo for the flattest shooting, hardest hitting 6.5 on the commercial market.

Is it for everyone? no. Does it fit a particular niche? maybe, time will answer that question.

Pretty much. The availability of factory ammo and a good supply of brass are deal breakers for me looking at any new caliber. There are some great wildcats out there already but without the ability to get factory ammo and brass they just don't fit my model.

Exactly why I took the plunge. I don't mind necking up or down a caliber, but I don't like the thought of needing 3 different sizers to make brass. Nor am I a fan of fire forming brass. With the 26, brass is available, or should be, as is factory ammo. Fits my prefrences like a glove.

I have a reamer, rcbs dies, go and no go, and a box of factory loaded ammo pictured......

May or may not be new pills for this medicine in the making.....

I have a 6.5 Bartlien 8.5 twist heavy palma I am considering installing on a Remington 700P in 300WM that doesn't get shot much..........Not really wanting to use that barrel so I have been looking for a couple others.

How did you manage to con them out of a box of factory ammo already?

Just compared it to a 375 Ruger drawing. It is larger!

Cartridge length is 2.590"......................375 Ruger 2.580"

base diameter is .5500" .......................375 Ruger .5220"

Shoulder diameter is .5286" .................375 Ruger .515"

Shoulder angle is 35 degrees.................375 30 degrees

Base to shoulder is shorter 2.1662"...... 375 Ruger 2.180"

Yip looking very much like a short RUM.
should be very useful to wild cat from bet Pacific Tool & Gauges phones will be ringing hot.
I'm with Len on this one. I doubt we'll need to wildcat on it. My bet is we'll have a series of new releases from Nosler that will include (probably first) a .30 cal version in the next year and likely a .277 as well in the next year or so.
