Novice reloader looking for help

I do have a case sizing die for the
7mag should I possibly try re-sizing the case before loading?

Were you not?
That's a good question. On the cases that were badly dented I'd suggest to a novice loader to just rid of them. Like I said I'd use the paper clip trick to check all your cases first. Then yes I would resize by bumping the shoulders back maybe 0.002". There are plenty on youtube videos on bumping the shoulder. You could use your full length resize die to neck size only, but I prefer bumping the shoulders or even full length resize to neck size only.

Your full length sizing die will resize the neck and body - and bump the shoulder back, depending on how it is adjusted.
If you have a body die it will resize the body and bump the shoulder but not resize the neck.
Please research how to properly set up your sizing die. Do not rely on the instructions in the die box.

Excuse my ignorance in terminology I meant to say body die.
The body die doesn't size the neck. You use the body die along with a neck die. Until you get a neck die I'd suggest stop using it and full length resize by bumping the shoulder.

What process are you using to resizing brass?
1. Neck sizing only with neck die - no body resizing
2. Using full length die with unknown amount of shoulder bump.
3. Body die then neck die.

How have you installed the full length die?
1. Followed manufacturer's instructions.
2. Screwed into press some amount; perhaps as far as to contact the shell holder.
3. Tried to adjust amount of shoulder bump to match chamber size.

Do you have any tools to compare case length?
#3. Use rifle, adjusted die until it take little to no force to close bolt
Do not have tools to compare
