so im looking to upgrade on scope quality on this next rifle mostly want something with a zero stop and was looking at nightforce shv with its zero set and am having trouble understanding the diferance between zero stop and zero set and the few pieces of info i could finde were too technical for me to realy grasp so if some one could break it down to zero stop/set for dummies it would be greatly appreciated

The zero stop uses a clutch style mechanism to stop. Can be found here.

This shows how the zero set is done.

I have a SHV 5-20 with zero set, I have never played with a zero stop model.
It's a simple system. Basically it's bottoming out the turret cover on the scope body. Set your zero, loosen the cap to set it and push it down. It doesn't stop exactly at 0. It will go about 1/2 MOA past if you crank on it but you should know you're approaching zero since it's the lowest line.
