I've been trying to find someone who has built converted a Yugo M48, which is an intermediate length action, to 6.5x284. I've seen lots of Swedish Mausers converted (also an intermediate length action) but not the M48. It seems to me like the M48 would be an ideal candidate for this caliber as there are lots of them on the market and they are reputed to be solid actions. I have a .260 on an M48 and am considering rechabering to 6.5x284 but want to make sure the OAL of the cartridge will not present feeding problems. Any experience or opinions out there on the M48/6.5x284 combo?

Your AOL, will be fine. The problem that I see is the larger diamater of the 284 case might cause some feeding problems. It's nothing that can't be fixed, just might need tweeking by a good gunsmith. capt david
