I'm going with headlight dimmer/bright switch, but only due to carpet in the pic makes me say it's not the starter switch as I'm not that old.
I'm old!
What PITA it was in winter with heavy boots on!!! Get so mad just stomp the living chit out of it to change to low beams!!
Bright / dimmer switch, I old as well.

I know what that switch is, had one in my car I got when I was 16. An old LTD.
I had an intern at work that thought I was crazy when I told her the original IPod came out when I was in college. She was then really confused when she asked if I meant an iPhone and I explained what an iPod was.

Dimmer switch for sure! I remember the night the floorboard on my 72 Comet finally rusted through and I must have hit the dimmer a bit too hard because it disappeared with part of the floor !

Dimmer switch if course. Dang things would fill up with dirt and have to be hosed out to get them to work. And yes, older than the dirt in the switch. Moses and I went to first grade together!
It was a 1945 Dodge Pick up truck. It was the work truck on the ranch I worked on back when I was 12 YO. It had a three speed transmission "shifter on the floor," a starter "pedal" "on the floor" and the previously shown headlight dimmer switch "on the floor." And my feet barely touched "the floor."

LOL..........Yea, I knew I was old before, and now you go and make it official.
I guess that makes me about the same age as dirt. The first car that I drove had aftermarket turn signals.
