Today I had my scope fail while shooting my XP in 6.5x284. What rifle scopes have you had success with on XP's ?? Looking for something that is durable, precise and bright.

I'm with Ernie on the Leupold VX5HD scopes. I have four mounted on XP's with excellent results so far.
I had a Sightron S-TAC 3x-16x-42mm that I gave to my brother that would also be a good choice on an XP.

I have about 15 Burris 3-12 BPlexes on most of my XPs, Encores, Contenders, including my 6.5/.284 & .375/.284 for 20 years or so. Exactly ONE failure in all that time & it was on a 6mmAI!! JD always bad mouth Burris', but they've been really good for me.

This is my first rifle scope on an XP. Up to now I've used Leupold 2.5x8 LER scopes with no problem.

Does your 6.5x.284 have a brake on it? If not you will want to look into that so you don't get your eye dotted.

BSPPC was asking about a rifle scope and said he had previously been using pistol scopes. Didn't want him to get bopped.
I think he forgot to add context, as he was using a rifle scope to begin with (First time he had used a riflescope). It was a rifle scope that broke. I am assuming he has a muzzle brake on his barrel. I could be wrong there though.

That could be the case. I get confused easily and sometimes even start out that way from the get go. True story
