Good day! I've got a Remington 700 LSS in 7rum in good condition I'm considering trading toward a 7mm. I've got brass, dies and some ammo to go with it. It's all original with low round count (less than 100). Silver vari-x 3 leupold. I'm looking for a newer synthetic 7mm rem mag that's a proven shooter. I'm going to shoot 140-160ish bullets, so 1-9 twist works. Money on my end for the right gun. The components have changed a bit from the picture. I'll update for any interest.

I always liked the LSS rifles and have 2 semi-custom LH-LSS rifles. Have you considered rebarreling to 7PRC? Blueprint, bed and rebarreling would result in a very accurate rifle.

Just my 2 cents

Yes sir, I've thought of it. My first plan was to re-barrel to a fast twist 7rum. PRC was a thought too, but brass seems scarce. Then I thought that the 140-160 gr range is best for what I do….. I guess I'm weighing my options.

Or just rebarrel to a 7rm like you're looking for. It will do everything the 7prc will do with affordable brass all over the place. Pretty sure you and your wallet will enjoy shooting the RM in the 140-160 range. You could crank them up or back them off and have years of enjoyable times with that setup!!! The RUM is sexy but the RM just never dies.

The LSS is gorgeous. My older brother and I were gifted 300 RUMs when they came out. He got the LSS and I got the black synthetic. Thanks Dad! Always jealous when I see one. If it were mine (it's not) I would leave it alone and just skip a few meals, beers, coffees, kids college tuition, whatever it takes to save up for the other rifle. Very nice!!

I've been shooting an 8" twist 7rum for a few years. It's been a hoot running 175 eld-x pills into mule deer. From the looks of it you have enough brass to knock out a barrel or two if you don't get too crazy loading hot.
