Up for sale is a Vintage factory walnut stock and bottom metal off a 1980 Remington 700 BDL Short action 243. The grain is beautiful in this stock. The stock is unaltered except the refinishing that was done to it.
This stock will fit any 700 SA series BDL or ADL or 40X. The barrel channel is unaltered and it is for a sporter contour but can be opened up to fit lager contours.
The old varnish was taken off with a mild citristrip. It was then sanded and finished with 15 coats of Truoil. It was buffed with 0000 steel wool in between each coat. The finish is much more attractive than the factory finish. It is not as glossy or shiny, and it is very nice.
There is a slight run in the wood off of one of the knots. I included pictures also. It is very slight and hard to see..It is very, very superficial. It does not affect the strength or integrity of the stock
I have had many compliments at the range on this stock.
The bottom metal had the hinged floorplate, magazine, spring and follower as well as the original screws and washers.
