Hello,

Would like some opinions on what a value of a gun may be worth. It is a 6BR, Dan Dowling barrel, stiller action, with a leupold 6.5-20 vxIII. The guy selling it says it has half of its barrel life left. I was considering this used one if the price was right to see if I enjoyed long range shooting & varmit shooting. Any advise would be appreciated, thanks.

It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay.

Look at gunbroker completed items to reseach comps.

I would base my estimate on the sum of the parts. If the guy has a great reputation and/or is willing to let you shoot it, then perhaps add a premium.

The stiller action is worth $950+.
You'd have to be more specific as to the bottom metal, scope, mount, rings...
You didn't mention stock or trigger.

A used barrel alone isn't worth much. Does it have the right twist, shoot the desired bullets? Will he provide load data, brass, dies, etc...?

If the rifle's a shooter, 6br has a very long barrel life. (3000+ rounds they say)

Good luck!
Richard
