Looks like I will be getting my hands on an older pre-64 Winchester M70 that has some water damage to the stock and possibly barrel. It has gone to a gunsmith and has been checked out. It has not been shot. The stock looks rough and I would assume if I kept it in the original stock which I guess is a very limited run that looks like maple but I am not sure. Might just get a McMillan and modernize the whole deal. New barrel, brake, get it set up nice. Its in a 300 win mag. Any thoughts as to restoring it to original or customizing it to a more tactical rifle?
