Which Colorado unit for trophy elk

I currently have 27 preference points for elk in Colorado. Which units should I consider applying for that would give me a chance to harvest a trophy elk?

If going to 201 I would strongly suggest the ML season. So many bulls to cow ratio it is hard to find one in the rifle season that is not busted up

Last I checked, it's harder to get a muzzleloader tag than rifle in 201

Preference point issue showing it is going to take 30 PP's for non res. and 25 for res. That's the ML season. The rifle is showing 26 for res. and 31 for non.
That is the bad about 201. You may never catch up in the preference point game. It probably is the premier unit for Colo.

Looks like unit 2 is 30 PP's for rifle, 29 for ML.
Unit 10 is 30 for rifle and 28 for ML.

Even as a resident, these units are almost unobtainable. I started applying for my kids on preference points when they were 11, they are now 32 and 30 still putting in for points on elk, maybe by the time their in their 60's, maybe they'll draw. OP, look at unit 61
