Colorado Unit 24 Elk ???'s

Is anyone familiar with this unit 24. I'm planning my first Elk backpacking hunt for this year second season OTC and haven't found much info on it but it seems to be a fairly decent looking unit on google earth. Not looking for and trophy bull but to have a real good experience and hopefully harvest a legal bull elk.

Ok access roads for a Dodge 2500 Cummins with 35 mud tires?
Is there decent population here?
Is the Forest service area by foot only and no atvs allowed?
Looking to hike off the trail head a few miles and setup camp and hunt from there.

No one on here has ever hunted in Unit 24?

Never hunted in that area before. If I'm going hunting in a new area and don't know anyone that's hunted there or a local I go by the closest DOW office and ask the Game Warden. They are usually very helpful and forthright with information. Where are you coming from?

Yeah I imagine the Game Wardens know the area pretty well. I'm coming from Maryland. Quite a drive
