Whats the cartridge you LOVE to HATE?

No, I'm afraid that you are all mistaken:

akdad: The S-10 isn't a "little light" for elk; it's a WHOLE LOT LIGHT for elk.

bulltinkle: I did indeed follow all your guidance and the little S-10 still didn't bring the elk home .... because it was totaled!

QuietTexan: I've had four S-10s over the years and none of them have been "something small trying to do big boy work" they've just been my daily commuter vehicles. If I had thought I'd be bagging an elk that early morning I'd have been driving my Ford Powerstroke, my Chevy 4400 flat bed or better yet my '41 International K-7 5 ton dump truck. But I was just trying to get to the airport to catch an early morning flight.

Did you drill the tip out?

Let's look in the safe for my whitetail rigs. Let's see, we have a .308, .270 Win, 7mm Rem Mag, 7mm-08 and 270WSM. I've been hunting all these years with a pile of $h!t! I'm just glad whitetails can't read this thread. The 300+ I've killed since the 70's would have all laughed at me for my caliber choices! Lol

Hate? Anything Creedmoor.

Something done to improve the reliability of the "infamous" Berger bullets! So…..did you get good expansion with the S-10 ? 😉 memtb
Expansion was massive but not quite uniform, guess my entry angle wasn't exactly square to the target. Only crinkled the left fender a bit but totally destroyed the right fender and hood.

I guess I would have to agree. Not so much the cartridge per se, but all the BS marketing surrounding it. You would think it's just shy of some super phaser from Star Trek.
Hate to tell you this but the 308Win in terms of delivering to the bullet the most energy per grain of powder, is extremely efficient.
Oh believe me I know.. thats why the 308 is on my list of 'what next to buy'. I dont really dislike it, its just that the poularity annoys me (so no sane reason really) Kinda like the 6.5 cr...

Did they have up signs.

(I know it's not an elk)

Not to be one to limit my thinking based on biases I did some research. All be it digital research.
But I'm going to the dark side for a test period. After looking and reading the 6 Creedmoor is perfectly sized with a 105 pill to fit in a mag for a AR10. 🤔
I'm going to see where this takes me. I've learned that hate gets me nowhere. So her I go. 🤪

Ah,Ha you are a Creedmoor shooter no doubt.

See they sneak in here quietly but come out with their preferences showing their Man Bun side.
🤣🤣🤣🤣

No sir but if someone gave me one I wouldn't turn up my nose at it haha (this is in reference to the bamboozling of butterbean - his "friends" bought him a 6.5 creed as a friendly prank haha - I suggested in hindsight he really should have convinced them he believe fine European double barrel shotguns were only for losers and he'd never be caught dead with one 😁)

As for me, I do like lattes (but most days just prefer black coffee…living in Saskatchewan Canada i also feel no need to justify enjoying a hot beverage of any kind haha, hot apple cider, hot chocolate, heck I'd never pay money for it but I'd enjoy a cup of grandmas herbal tea and say thank you if it was offered)

But a couple years ago I had to ask on this forum if the universe itself was protesting my existence as an abomination: I like lattes. In college I never had a manbun but I did grow my hair out (admittedly more a metal head/white Jesus/starving student look)

But My favourite all around cartridge has been the .300 win mag since I was 18, long hair and hipster coffee included. Before that was my .270. Now I'm really enjoying getting to know my .358 Norma.

So the one year it was either the end of April or beginning of may, the snow was all gone, it had been above freezing for weeks, plants were starting to spring up…and we got hammered with like 2 feet of snow one afternoon and temps dropped back to near winter temps for a few days. this actually happens here at least once a decade - but i suggested that maybe I had somehow broke reality as dudes with long hair who drink lattes aren't supposed to own .300 win mags 🤣🤣🤣

Also I will throw hate at the 6.5 Creedmoor.

Everyone fan boys it like this was something new and amazing. 6.5x55 has been doing what 6.5 Creedmoor does for over 100 years prior to its existence. The only thing that a creedmoor has on a 6.5x55 is it fits in a short action, which I couldn't care less about.

I will say that i am glad 6.5 creedmoor opened many American eyes to the 6.5 calibers, because many of the casuals and even many of the mainstream were sleeping on 6.5s. It also has brought a better bullet selection for my beloved 6.5x55.

I will stick with my 6.5x55 though as a main go to round. Although a 25 Creedmoor does seem kinda interesting to me down the road.
