Searching for a scope for my 20" 223. Looked through this at my LGD and immediately fell in love with it. 4x24x52 with tmoa reticle, price is gonna be almost 1540 OTD, a little more than I wanted to spend. So my question is, anything else out there with similar clarity , power range and reticle that would be a cheaper alternative?

Twice the price of a vortex PST, probably is a little pricey to go on a 223. How far you plan on shooting

Local range is 700yrds, and i doubt I'll ever shoot that far unless I'm at tge ranhe. I agree it's probably too much for my 223, but I wasn't really impressed with the vortex honestly, but I can't remember the exact model I looked through, pretty sure it was a pst ffp.

8x is way too high for me on low end mag, I'll go back and look through those vortex again and make sure I note what models I look through. I guess I should have said predator hunting, not varmit. That's why the 4x appeals to me on the leupold

If you don't mind spending an hour or two you can usually reduce the cost. I spent quite a bit of time and got my 4-24X52 for $1,347 delivered. Except for the mushy dialing I really like it. I am even thinking about taking it off my big gun and putting it on my ultralight rifle. What caliber you put it on is irrelevant.

I have the vx-6 4-24 with tmoa on my precision AR. I would buy another in a heartbeat. Would make a great long range hunting scope.

Of course I have a vx-6 2-12 on my hunting rifle.

and a vx-6 7-42 on my long range target gun.

I think I'm going to get a 2-12 for my one hunting rifle . it's a point and shoot rifle , no dialing , no side focus . do you like this 2 - 12 scope ? does it seem good at low light ? thanks Jim
