VLDs Don’t Fit in Ammo Case

Saw this and was really impressed

Ok so this is random but I loaded up some 168 grain Berger VLDs in my 7mm STW. I did the various seating depths per Berger's instructions and the top won't close unless I force it on my MTM ammo case. It lists the 7mm STW as a compatible cartridge for the box but I'm assuming the long VLDs seating far out are well beyond SAAMI COAL for the 7mm STW.

Will having some pressure on the bullet tips from the plastic box mess up the seating depth or tips?
Just drill some small holes on the lid. Keep your ammo from rattling.

🤯🤣

Hornady OAL Length gauge with a once fired modified case. COAL is 3.970 to touch lands, CBTO is 3.258 to touch lands with a 180 grain Berger VLD
Your COAL of 3.970" will definitely fit. I loaded a 190 Berger in .30 LARA (8MM RM improved case) with a COAL of 3.980", went to Scheels, and tried it bullet down, and it fits.

Drill little holes in the box for the bullet tip to stick through. Just kidding.
