US869 and 300RUM

Hi all,

I've been off on other pursuits for a few months so my apologies if this has already been covered. I did a search but didn't come up with much regarding the use of US869 in the 300RUM. Has anybody tried this powder with 180 or 200g pills? Any heavier bullets?

I just posted in the Handloading forum. No velocities yet but accuracy looks good with 240s.

Actually, I used AccuBonds for most of the break in but with Retumbo. I'm not in a big hurry to try them with US869 since Retumbo works so well for this weight. I got some decent groups:

They would have been better if I hadn't outsmarted myself with that fancy target...I found that small red dot annoying and hard to use--especially since most if it disappears when you hit it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif A larger dot is much easier to use....

Anyway, it looks like they should do just fine in the 1:9 twist 3-groove.
