Well it was a very long rough winter experiencing the absolute hell a tick can inflict. But I made it with the lord by my side and a lot of prayers. I'll never forget Saturday May 9 2026. Gavin's first gobbler. We've called in plenty over the last years but always got spooked off by hunters that decide to stalk and trespass. Well Gavin came in and said daddy it's pouring out at 4 am as I sat on the edge of my bed. We're not going hunting are we in that sad voice that a12 year old that absolutely loves being outside uses. I put my arm around him and said Gavin tomorrow isn't a promise to us I learned in the hospital so let's enjoy today even in the rain. That boy got dressed faster than a horse in the Kentucky derby! Well we nailed a double that morning when the rain stopped with his .410 gauge and Fed TSS 9 shot. Birds were close enough to use dove and quail 2.5" 12 shot if you know what I mean! God Bless America and the angles protecting her worldwide!!
