Tough Coyote

Ive shot em with my 44 mag lever gun. That 357 will work. If you want to use bait, use something that they can't just pick up and carry off. Like a road killed deer, or something similar. You'll need something that will cause them to return.

Ive used a 223, 22-250, and even tried a 17HMR (bad idea) on upstate NY Coyotes. Now that I'm hunting Upper MI, where there is less farmland and more woods, Ive switched to a 243... hoping it will stop them solid. but as was already said, its all about bullet placement!

I agree with there being nothing tougher then a coyote, I shot this one straight on @ 100yds in the chest just left of center blowing the back end out after traveling through shooting a 140gr Berger VLD out of a 26 Nosler dumping him in his tracks to walk up 5 min later and find him slithering off, trying to bite.
