Due to the long throat on the Tikka, i have an overall Bullet to Ojive length max of 3.145 but cannot seat the bullet until i back off the lands to length of 3.030. Everything you read says to seat just off the lands and then move back to do a seating depth fire test.

anyone have any experience with this or any suggestions?

Yes, I reload for a friend that has the same rifle model and chambering. Unless you plan to single shoot, you're limited to a. SAAMI COAL.

Berger has an excellent article on COAL vs CBTO that it's worth the read.

Good luck!
