Tikka 6.5 prc load development

Just put this together. Loaded up 10 rounds yesterday just to shoot.
Tikka 6.5prc chopped to 20", ultra 7 with adg brass, v565, 210's and 147eldm

Initial shooting was great just loaded up 55 gr. And stuck to mag length. Boy was it slow the 10 round average was 2541! So now I threw in the long bolt stop and have a long action mag.

COAL seems to be about 3.010" I have read that jump doesn't matter to much with these but where do I begin?

I have read almost every thread from rokslide to here to snipers hide. Any input would be great just hanging in the shop tinkering after way to much food today

2541fps with 55gn? Something ain't right. That seems too slow just comparing to published load data.

I suppose since it's a 20" barrel, velocity will be lower. I would just have figured it would still be higher than that.

Yeah from my research it seems it should be up in the 2750 range

How did you arrive at your load? I'm at 2894 with 58.8 gr of N565 and 143 Bondstrike out of my 21" Element.

There's a good thread on Rokslide about N565 in the 6.5 PRC. Tikkas are known to be slow, but shouldn't be that slow….

Oh I didn't find the load. I just had a brand new rifle and suppressor that I wanted to shoot. I picked a safe powder charge and loaded up 10 rounds and went down to my neighbors to shoot. Was pretty suprised looking at the garmin. Group was tight but ****.

Totally understand wanting to shoot haha. Bump up your charge!

I wasloading my 6,5 prc with 127 Barnes lrx bullets and 57,5 gr N560 measured with 3200 fps , good accuracy and I think good load but test yourself if u want

I'm just starting load development with a 20" Bergara, interested in what you find out. I got some decent velocity with H4831SC and 140 grain bullets but not impressed with accuracy. I have several more bullets purchased, just needing some range time to check them out. I'm really limited on COAL in mine, little less than 3", so I really need some forgiving bullets.

My idea would be to try N560 with heavies maybe even n 565
Wich bullet I would say depends on what you want to do
My load is for hunting

I shoot a 124 HH with 59 grains RL26 in 26" barrel and get 3465 fps Peterson brass 210 M primer. 3/8" group also at 100 yards

22" 7.5 Twist Proof. My load below with the 144 Berger Hybrid. Works fantastic on deer size game.
5shot group, 2945fps, SD of 7, extremely temp stable in big temperature swings here in Az.
