I have been wanting to replace the stock on my lefty BDL in .270 win. I have been looking at getting a Grayboe Outlander or a the HS Precision PSS016. IF this is the wrong forum please let me know. I would like to hear your input on either brand. This will be a hunting rifle that i will take to the range year round shooting anywhere from 100 to 600 yards with the chance to work up to 1,000. I have not seen a HS Precision stock in person so I am curious to hear what everyone thinks.

I’m not familiar with the Grayboe but have had many HS Precision stocks. They are well made and most look very good aesthetically as well. As SLV hunter said, they are a tad on the heavy side. Other than that, the only thing that I don’t really care for is that on their sporter style stocks the grip tends to be a bit “fat” for my liking. Perhaps 10-15% larger than I like but that’s all personal preference. I’m sure you will be happy with whichever one you choose.

No personal experience with Grayboe, but I hear alot of recommendations for them on here. I have HS stocks and have been very satisfied with them. I also believe the HS is slightly better than the B&C. All the above applies.

I have 3 Grayboe stocks. 2 on hunting rifles, one on a Vudoo 22. I think they are really good stocks, and a really good value for the $$$

someone just posted on another thread that they had a grayboe that broke at the wrist--anyone else have any problems with grayboe stocks? or was this the "one bum stock" out there?

H&S stocks are good in my book nothing negative to say all my stocks tend to be heavy, does Greyboe make a Savage stock just curious didn't see anything about them on their website?

I have no experience personally with Greyboe, but have seen some good groups shot with them.
All of my builds are done with either Manners, McMillan or HS Precision.
I really like the feel of the HS Sporter stocks on hunting rifles that are more suitable to traditional lines than a tactical or semi target type like the Sendero stocks.
I have done 3 rifles with the same B&C stock as found on the current Win Model 70 EW, although they function fine and are of quality equal to the price, I prefer the HS.

Cheers.

I’ve got a Grayboe Renegade on my 338 RUM. No complaints with the stock at all and I’ve been happy with it, especially for the price.

My only experience with HS was my factory HS on a Remington Sendero. No gripes with it either.
